The programme will support 50 vulnerable students within the age range of 16 – 27 particularly those who for other reasons and difficulties could not successfully complete their Malawi School Certificate of Education or have not attained sufficient high enough grades to enter and pursue the tertiary education as demanded by the Malawi Education Policies. The programme will also seek to prioritise among others; single mothers, men and women with disabilities, men and women living with albinism and men and women living with HIV/AIDS.
Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute with its pool of experienced and skilled expertise will facilitate the delivery of the necessary skills and knowledge in the following trades; Carpentry and Joinery, Solar basic application training, Tailoring and Fashion Design, Brick Laying, Welding and Fabrication, Basic Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Screen Printing.
The project will run in Lilongwe district only and the targeted population will precisely come from Traditional Authorities Tsabango, Kalolo, Kalumbu, Chadza, Malili and Chimutu.
